On the 10 October, in recognition of World Mental Health Day 2018, we organised a local fundraising event called Never Mind the Catwalk to raise money for our charity partners Mind in Croydon.
The evening was a great success, raising a total of £1843.54 to help support those in our local community living with mental health conditions.
Staff from across the organisation joined volunteers and services users from Mind in Croydon in a number of roles throughout the evening, making it, as one attendee said, "such a happy place to be".
A special word of thanks goes to everyone who volunteered on the day and to those who were instrumental in the organisation and management of the event.
Speakers at the event, including Her Worshipful the Mayor of Croydon, Bernadette Khan, and Councillor Janet Campbell, Deputy Cabinet Member for Families Health and Social Care praised our charity partnership. They said it would help highlight the importance of raising awareness and removing the stigma surrounding mental health issues in the borough.
Richard Pacitti, CEO of Mind in Croydon was delighted, saying: "We would never have been able to put on an event such as this without the efforts of so many at the PPF and we're really grateful to everyone for their support."
Oliver Morley, CEO, spoke at the event, saying that the event highlighted the importance of our corporate responsibility programme and was, "good for the community, good for us all."
