If you're a PPF or FAS member, you can now nominate a beneficiary and upload supporting evidence of their relationship to you on our member website. This will make it quicker and easier for your beneficiary to begin receiving payments when you die.
You can nominate a beneficiary by completing the online nomination form on the PPF member website or the FAS member website. You need to be registered on the member website to nominate your beneficiary.
Who can I nominate as a beneficiary?
In most cases*, you can nominate one of the following:
- Your spouse
- Your civil partner
- Your relevant partner, if your former pension scheme’s rules allow
*Some PPF members can have child beneficiaries only due to the rules of their former scheme.
A relevant partner is someone who you aren’t married to or in a civil partnership with, but who you live with as if you’re married or in a civil partnership. You may be able to nominate them, depending on the rules of your former scheme.
You cannot nominate multiple people.
You don't need to nominate any children. We'll enquire about any eligible children as part of the bereavement process.
What supporting evidence can I provide?
If you are married or in a civil partnership, please upload your marriage or civil partnership certificate as supporting evidence.
If you would like to nominate your relevant partner, and you have checked that your former scheme’s rules allow you to nominate a relevant partner, please upload one document from the list below. The document must be addressed to your relevant partner at the same address we have on record for you, and dated within the last 12 months:
- A valid UK driving licence
- A utility bill (electricity, water, gas, internet, phone, TV or streaming services)
- A council tax bill
- A bank statement
- A letter from a hospital or clinic confirming an appointment
- A letter from an official body such as the Department for Work and Pensions, HM Revenue and Customs, or a local authority
You can nominate a beneficiary by logging into the PPF member website or the FAS member website.
