This month is Pride month. People from all around the world come together in love and friendship and celebrate how far Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer or Questioning + (LGBTQ+) rights have come.
Pride is held in June each year to commemorate the riots held by members of the LGBTQ community against a police raid at the Stonewall Inn in New York City on June 28, 1969.
The importance of Pride
Pride encourages acceptance and equality, and celebrates the work of LGBTQ+ people around the globe. It’s a time to educate people about LGBTQ+ history and raises awareness of the issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community too. Kaleidoscope, our employee network group, is extremely proud to be celebrating and recognising our LGBTQ+ colleagues this month.
What is Kaleidoscope?
Kaleidoscope is our network dedicated to looking at diversity and inclusion through a LGBTQ+ lens. From enhancing our workplace policies and procedures, to offering training and support to staff, Kaleidoscope offers a welcome space to connect and share ideas.
We’re an inclusive group and welcome everyone, whether you’re LGBTQ+ or an ally. We champion LGBTQ+ issues across the business by building visibility for the community through events, articles and network meetings. Our aim is to ensure the PPF is an environment where LGBTQ+ employees feel they can bring their whole selves to work, where they can flourish and feel their contribution is valued.

PPF Pride
This year we’re celebrating PPF Pride, and we want it to be the golden thread that joins all our Kaleidoscope activities together. We kicked things off with our pride-themed lanyards for employees to wear proudly around the office. We’ll be running various activities throughout June, including our extremely popular Pride Quiz.
Happy Pride from us all at the PPF!
